Islamabad— Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its longstanding diplomatic and economic ties with Italy, describing the European nation as a “trusted friend.”

Speaking at a high-profile reception marking the 80th National Day of the Italian Republic, the Chairman engaged in an informal dialogue with the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, to discuss the future of bilateral relations.

Extending heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Italy on behalf of the Senate and the Pakistani public, Gillani emphasized that the bond between the two nations is built on a solid foundation of mutual respect, shared interests, and robust cooperation at both regional and international levels.
